Interesting post Rawb, but typical. Very typical.
I don't see a shred of evidence to support any claim made in those posts. And by evidence I don't mean a quote from some unnamed guy who happens to disagree with evolution - I mean a published, peer reviewed paper. Its all well and good to say reptiles lived 450 years and that is why they grew big, but where is the evidence?
I'm not going to debunk everything you said, I don't have the time, nor the will; I could copy and paste 10,000 pages of text from the scientific literature, but it would make no difference. All I can suggest to you is this. Learn some geology. Learn some biology. Learn some evolutionary theory, and learn what evidence we have to support it. Read some books and find out HOW they can tell so much about a dinosaur from so little. Learn some physics and understand that Uranium-238 has a half-life of 4.5 billion years, and that its half-life is inversely proportional to its radioactivity, so unless you had critical mass, it would not heat the water, make steam, and create mountains.
I can not convince you of why this is wrong. I have an opinion based on my education, the author of that article has an opinion based on his (or, I'm sorry but I have to say, lack therof). You have read that article and now have your own opinion. All I can suggest is that you do not take it at face value. Learn both sides of the story, and then make your own, educated decision as to what you believe. Unfortunately, much of what is said in what you posted is either blatent lies, or the author has some serious misunderstandings. Probably a combination of both.
I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm not saying your right. I'm saying that the only way for you to know is to find out for yourself and not take someone elses word on it.

And that is the main point. We are all to an extent taking other people's word for things, in all aspects of life today. When we are educated, are we not also taking other people's word for things as well? How do our minds tell us which is Kosher and which isn't? Based on our previous experiences and thoughts and feelings which are stored in the sub-conscious mind determine what we will believe or not believe.
If you had a father who beat you with the Bible when you were a child and said he did it because God told him to, would that not darken your perception of God? of course it would. Is the man telling the truth? At the time, the child would think probably yes. 30 years later with different information; it depends. If the man chose to even look into learning the truth and from who is he going to learn the truth from at that point? The emotional scars of the abuse still linger and the outlook of God may still be unchanged. So a person then turns to learning things without God being in the picture. A totally understandable thing to do given the circumstances.
Our first few years of life as a child are extremely important on how we turn out as adults. So this also affects how we learn and what we will believe as well. Everything we are raised with, what we were taught, what we were exposed to, makes us who we are today. While in these character forming years, who is to say what we learn? Our parents, then teachers. Kids are sponges, and will learn whatever they are taught. We are raised to respect our elders and of course that they are telling the truth regarding things in life. So where does that lead to? At some point we learn or agree to believe what we are being told. People fall into categories of like beliefs due to the previous experiences in life that determine what we know or perceive. It's all a matter of accepting something. But our childhood has everything to do with how we accept anything in adulthood.
