"It was that modest upbringing that influenced Frank's powerful vision for creating a way to help the little guy succeed. A way to redistribute the opportunity for wealth, away from the big corporations and back into the hands of the average family. To help families to reach their goals by allowing them to participate in the revenue generated on the sale of exceptional products at reasonable prices. His vision became a reality when he founded Melaleuca, and introduced the world to consumer direct marketing, a revolutionary new business model" What new business model?? It is a pyramid scheme compensation plan with to the door delivery. What little guys are succeeding??

The 190,000 paid grunts are grouped as follows=99.2%

Title/ annaul earnings /#of folks at level
Marketing Executive 1/$104/ 103,170

"In the year 2000 the top two leading causes of death in North America were heart disease, accounting for 36% of all deaths and cancer, accounting for 27%. More than 2600 Americans die of cardiovascular disease each day. That's an average of one death every 33 seconds. Studies show that by the year 2020 nearly half of all people over the age of 50 will suffer from arthritis and nearly 60% of women will experience loss of bone mass density and osteoporosis. It's no secret that over 60% of Americans are overweight today. In fact, 34% are considered clinically obese. Those are just a few of the concerns that we should all have about our health today. But you know, there is nothing more powerful than our bodies' own inherent ability to heal itself. As long as we provide our bodies with the proper nutrition. So the question is: how do we ensure that we get the proper nutrition? Well, you could do nothing and hope that you don't get sick, and when you do you'll spend a lot of money on prescription drugs and have to deal with the long-term side effects they have."

"Or you could try the store brand approach to nutrition. But chances are you'll spend a lot of good money for ineffective products. Take Centrum, for example, the number one leading multi-vitamin on the market today. Centrum contains just 29% of the recommended daily intake of Selenium and a mere 16% of the recommended daily intake of Calcium, two vitally important minerals our bodies need each day. Recently the antioxidant, Lutein, has been heralded as a key nutrient for visual health. Yet Centrum contains just 4% of the dose recommended for any therapeutic value at all. The same could be said for Lycopene, a key nutrient shown to be important for prostate health. Similar comparisons can be made with most of Centrum's other ingredients, and more than most other popular store brands available today. No wonder most people say they don't feel any different when they take these multi-vitamins. And remember, this doesn't even take into account the bio-availability or absorption rates of these other products. In fact, let me ask you a question: How can you be sure that the nutritional supplements that you are taking are actually being absorbed and used by your body? Maybe they are just going away period. How would you know? The truth is, you don't."

"Well, I've decided to experience the Melaleuca difference and you can too. Melaleuca's Vitality for Life line of Nutrition is clearly head and shoulders above the competition. Take our foundation for great nutrition, known as our Daily for Life pack, for example. The Daily for Life pack consists of the Vitality pack, a powerful multi-vitamin/mineral supplement; Provex CV, the most powerful antioxidant available proven to reduce blood platelet aggregation and scavenge free radicals to promote cardiovascular health; and Cell-Wise, a broad spectrum antioxidant designed to guard your cells against degenerative diseases. And you can be assured that your supplements are getting absorbed where you need them. Our Vitality pack, for example, uses our patented fructose compound delivery system to ensure and, in fact, guarantee absorption at the cellular level. Take our 90-day challenge and experience for yourself the difference in your health, energy and overall sense of well-being or your money back, guaranteed." The scare followed by the hype!

Folks,

I can't believe anyone who has crunched the numbers and checked out this company could read this and not heave. Frank tells us he writes 190,000 people a check each month. I see there are less than 3,000 making $15,000 or more out of the 20,000 folks he says are making a living. Melaleuca consistenetly uses terminology like generations instead of levels and Consumer Direct Marketing when they are still clearly a Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) company with a seven level pyramid. Sales people are called customers etc. The man who is in charge has the audactiy to talk about how he preaches honesty and integrity. This is what is so truly sad. This company hides behind an air of legitimacy when the biggest product they sell is the dream. You to can be a wealthy independent Presidential Director. You can be the top af a pyramid of 97,000 people. What your most likely to do is join the 54% making $104 per year, the 15% making $222 a year or the 10.7% making $485 per year!

Well, after checking out the US patent site, it has confirmed the use of harmful ingredients by Melaleuca. I have only checked half a dozen so I am only reporting what I have found so far. There is usage of Titanium Dioxide in one product I have found, which according to Samuel Epstein, is a "frank" carcinogen, or outright carcinogen.

They also have MEA, DEA, and TEA (monoethanolamine, diethanolamine, triethanolamine) all listed as well. Diethanolamine had an article on the news a while back regarding its danger. The MEA and TEA are no different. There was one product, which had a lot of PEG ingredients listed. (Polytheylene, Polyethylene glycol etc.. or any ethoxylated compound)
It doesn't appear that they are really taking things on the safe side here.

These are just a few that came off the top. I seriously would look into any company that mixes "science" with herbal, hence the word "nutriceutical" comes forth. Mela isn't the only one that is doing this. Usana, Neways, Sunrider are also mixing bad ingredients as well. My wife was taking a vitamin supplement from Sunrider which had Titanium dioxide in it. Of course, the reps first defence is " oh, it's a natural source". My company wouldn't do that!

It seems we have a problem here folks. I'm not just stating Mela here but the others I mentioned above. Anytime a company says "science" or "pharmaceutical grade", I would double check and research more. As soon as the guy in Usana said pharmaceutical grade to me, I immediately looked at the ingredients. No good overall.

Bottom line: Our bodies do not recognize or utilize chemicals. Even if you do not feel the effects right away, you will see the consequences down the road. These chemicals accumulate in the body and travel in the bloodstream to our organs. A headache is one of the first visible signs of the body being exposed to chemicals. With society having chemicals coming at them in all directions, it's no wonder more of us are becoming sensitive. We need more companies to step up and not use ANY at all.

It also goes to show that anything that can be patented, is not natural, otherwise the drug industry would own the herbal field monopoly.

Melaleuca is an excellent company they use Tea Tree oil which you should do a search on and find out for yourself why it is so good.

I believe like any Direct Selling company they also offer support, I was involved back in the late 80s because my sister was into it. But at the time I was too busy working two jobs to do anything else.

Take my advise never listen to broke people, keep on doing your Melaleuca thing and move on.

Frank Vandersloot, Co-founder, President and CEO for Melaleuca, Inc. and an appointed board member for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce developed this company around his personal mission statement. "Enhancing the lives of those we touch..." is the motto that drives Melaleuca. Mr. Vandersloot insists that Melaleuca is about the quality of their products, not about their marketing concept. 1"Without having the best products that money can buy, we really don't have an excuse for being here." The products may be great, but this is really about the marketing concept! When 103,000 make $104 per year, 28,500 make $222 per year, 20,330 make $485 per year, 28,500 make $1178 per year, 5,130 make $5,349, 1,900 make $9,990 per year and less than 3000 make a living I don't see where he is enhancing lives!

A concept, invented by Frank Vandersloot, called "Consumer Direct Marketing", has changed the face of home based business forever. It should be noted that Melaleuca is strictly a word-of mouth advertiser. Since millions of dollars are not being spent to promote the company and its products, additional savings can be passed on to our Preferred Customers. We reward our Preferred Customers / Marketing Executives, with those saved advertising dollars, for spreading the word, in the form of monthly residual income. The company shares the profits with the members in the form of a monthly check. Everybody pays the same price, everyone purchases the same base amount of products each month, so everyone gets a piece of the pie. The key concept/requirement is that everyone buys the products; residual income is made from the purchase of products, not the recruitment of new members. Additionally, You will never see sales displays for our products in any store. Only those who actually use our products are able to promote them. Melaleuca, Inc. is a true home based business because you'll never be able to purchase Melaleuca products anywhere other than through an Independent Melaleuca Marketing Executive. Everyone being forced to make purchases is how the money is made. The numbers show what a joke the promises of income are. More than 80% can't even pay for the $50 of product they must purchase monthly! Now consumer direct doesn't mean it is not an MLM. It simply means the salesforce doesn't have to stockpile or deliver merchandise. Folks order from the company, the buff UPS guy delivers it and a seven level pyramid eats up more than half of the take in commissions. I can assure you the motto is enroll(recruit), enroll(recruit) enroll.........

We (as Preferred Customers / Marketing Executives), do not sell or pressure people to buy products (the products actually sell themselves), we simply teach others to make money at home by changing where they shop and showing others how to do the same. Oh, Please!!!!!!

Melaleuca is not a MLM company; we are not a pyramid where some person on top makes all the money. BUNK!!!!!!
Introducing "The Pyramid"

YOU
Level 1 5
Level 2 25
Level 3 125
Level 4 625
Level 5 3,125
Level 6 15,625 = 19530
----------------------
Level 7 78,125
Total business partners = 97,655

Melaleuca is a mail order company, a true wholesale buying club. Similar to Sam’s Club, except we handle a unique product line of over 200 consumable products that every person will use regularly, and will be purchased again and again, from the comfort of one's home, not by milling around a congested shopping center. We show you a better way to shop for products that you are already using, not NEW things you probably don’t need, or won’t use a second time. That of course explains the 5.5% a month and 60% yearly attrition rate!

The company is legitimate, but the marketing arm is nothing more than a deceptively labeled pyramid scheme!

No good ingredient is totally going to disperse of the synthetic however. If you mix Tea tree oil with fluoride and stick it in the toothpaste, you will get the benefits of the tea tree oil wherever the body will utilize it. In the meantime, the fluoride is causing fluorosis in the bones of your body. This is not just Mela, but any company who continues to use bad chemicals and call it "science".

The company that I am in also use Tea tree oil. However, they also use NO synthetic chemicals. Certified organic ingredients that you can actually identify when you look at the labels.

As some of the other posts state - Melaleuca is a legitimate business. I also joined through a mom group and was eventually promoted to be part of their support group, so I understand very well the in's and out's of trying to build this business and what you can expect. I still order their products and still receive a monthly check from them. There are, however, some very real down sides to the business end. I don't want to be negative, but I would be happy to share my experience with you if it will help. Feel free to email me and I'll be happy to discuss it further via email or phone whatever you feel comfortable with. Email me at sahydrick@yahoo.com.

Best of luck in whatever your endeavors are...
