The sub-conscious is like a huge computer. Everything we have seen in life, experienced or heard in life is stored in there. Our thoughts and feelings are based on the previous experiences we have had in life. Sometimes we react to something that we have never been exposed to before, that we remember consciously anyway. Even smells can come back to memory. I have read some interesting things on the sub-conscious and how it works. I did have an article on the brain that was the result of some latest studies on the brain and the conscious and sub-conscious minds. It is pretty neat stuff. There is a whole course that I went to and it talks all about how things in childhood affect us in adulthood. This is where the sub-conscious comes into play. Things we may not remember consciously, doesn't mean it didn't happen. Some things are not brought back to our attention sometimes until after the age of 30. Some things are too traumatic for people to handle and the mind will tuck it away. One thing I learned from the course is; the mind will do whatever it takes to survive. Scary how it was said. But kind of a safety
thing too.
One thing about the sub-conscious; like they said in the course, analyze the word. Below thinking. It does not think for itself, just a filing cabinet of previous experiences for the conscious to draw from. This will tell how we react to different things, or interact. I will have to dig out the course and look at it again. The brain info I didn't download in time and will have to get a copy from the other people who took the course. It talks about the 4 parts of the brain. Brain and mind are two different things. Finding out how we work is pretty fun stuff to learn anyway.

Maybe it would also make people see others as equals. People would stop hating others for difference in religions, but find other ways to hate others. Skin color or different nationalities will always give people a reason to hate others. I don't know why, we're all flesh and blood. We all want the same things in life, when it all boils down to it

The often cited example is when you think of a friend, and then two seconds later that person calls you. But ask yourself how many times in, say, a year, do you think of someone else? Must be tens of thousands. Now usually, if your thinking about someone and the phone rings, you'll go answer it and forget that you were thinking about it. But if it happens to be the person you were just thinking about, you will think that it was a prediction.

finding out how we "work" can be fun or labor depending on whether it is forced or a whim of mind!(mind defined as do as your told or offered)Job was 'forced' into seeing god face to face.NO FUN!!implying that all other avenues are fraught with self deception!!if man is a soul and god is spirit then......what is mind!?............OOPS!!I ALREADY ANSWERED THAT!!but wait......are there options!?viva la options!!is it all good!?

Interesting concept. Think about it...if it was proven that there was no God (just using for sake of argument) and that their was no noble reason or purpose for our existance....how would that affect our perceptions of others who were of different faiths??? Would people begin to stop hating??? There will always be people who will argue for the sake of arguing. I have a family member like this. He was proven wrong one time with the use of a calendar and he stared at that calendar as if he were thinking "how dare that calendar prove me wrong"

Some people take it steps even further, and in the name of whatever, will go out and take whatever means necessary to silence the critics or the ones who oppose their way of thinking. They'll say things like, 'the devil made me do it' or 'it was God who commanded me to do it'. Without even mentioning those two, people will say, my horrible childhood upbringing was what compelled me to do it. People will try to justify whatever actions they may take and blame it on something else. Look at Adam when God was asking them in Eden. Eve blamed the serpent, Adam blamed Eve AND God for his fall. This has just followed down the lineage.

Although some people blame their childhood for the reasons they commit murder or crime, it actually has a lot to do with it. The main point is, they still made the decision to commit the act. All of us no doubt had a bad childhood at some points but do we take that opportunity to blame our actions on it? Depends on the damages we incurred during childhood. Some people are mentally stunted at ages where their perception of reality is messed. This can be seen when kids commit murders similar to the ones they play on video games. This has happened even with teenagers. (one teenager ran someone over on a sidewalk because of playing car video games where you run over people to get points)

What was this thread topic again? oh yeah... I plead the fifth.
