Notifying aol about careerbuilder not responding appears to have been a waste of time, I'm getting boilerplate responses.

Has anyone contacted monster.com about this yet? I think the people at Monster should be given an opportunity to deal with this.

I have read where he has sent an email with what has been posted in here by someone to them and he has also replied to me regarding something I have posted in here...how does he know who we are on here. I do not see anywhere on our profiles that show our name or email addresses. Just a though!!

The answer I came up with regarding Careerbuilder.com is that they must sell mailing lists or something to that effect. The fraudulent e-mail that comes from the charity scam is using mimicks of the actual careerbulder.com logos but, the scammers are still accessing people who are registered with the job boards considering I just got another one a couple of days ago from monster.com.

I have went online and removed all of my information from the online job boards such as dice.com, monster.com, careerbuilder.com, etc...

I haven't received a scam e-mail since.

I recently received these emails while my resume was posted on Career Builder. Of course I looked for signs of this being a scam, went to the website, etc., of course finding nothing. I received a "cashiers check" yesterday and decided that I needed to REALLY RESEARCH this before I did anything. THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH FOR HAVING THIS SITE! I am a mother of two and absolutely could NOT deal with such nonsense. I'm going to find a way to get these guys. For anyone that is considering cashing one of these checks, they aren't real. Your bank may give you the cash to send to the Netherlands or wherever they tell you to send it, but when the check bounces you will be the only person (real person) that will be held accountable.

Hi,

I too received the CareerBuilder email from Michael Burton and was stupid enough to sign a contract. I sit here with a check for $4,500.00. I will not deposit it. I have contacted the FBI and am in the process of contacting the Attorney Generals office and I was also advised to file a complaint at www.ic2.gov. I am so glad that I took the time to do a little bit of research. Thanks for posting all of this information. I will let you know how it all turns out. Oh yeah the check was issued at Bank of Vernon, Vernon, Texas. It looks totally real. And the remitter it says is Chris Forte. I would be interested to know what other information anyone has who has received checks. Thanks again.

Hi,
I too have been sent a $4,500 cashier check, BUT decided that YES, this was too good to be true, especially when MICHAEL could not, or WOULD not directly answer the question as to WHY A MIDDLEMAN is needed to process these donations? I too would like to GET MICHAEL BURTON and shut him down, even though I believe that Careerbuilders.com SHOULD be the one to really go after him, after all HE is using THEIR database to find his victims. I am "keeping" the $4,500 check just to remind me of how easy a jobless person can be taken in!!!

Being in a financial bind nearly made me loose my mind.
I got this from Careerbuilder too, so I thought it was legit. I sent my info in, even after not having my questions answered properly. Then I found this site. I emailed him the info I found on him and ask that he not send me anything. Apparently there is already a check in the mail, I'll just toss it. I'm so glad I found this site. He didn't even seem surprised that I wanted to quit, he just sent me this email:

Per your request I will terminate you ,
we stop the ccheck,
you can discard it.

Sincerely, Robert Williams

Thanks again for posting about this dude. I'm a stay at home mom with a disabled child. We could not afford to get caught up in this mess.

THANK GOD I FOUND THIS WEB SITE AS WELL.
I recieved an email from this guy by way of Career Builder. I don't hold Career Buildre responsible, because they are in the business of selling space for employment. I'm not sure how much security can be involved in that way.

I recieved my $4500 check on this Saturday, and I along with everyone else had some type of notion that this was too good to be true. I did deposit the check into my account, and I have received daily emails from this guy.

Just so happened that today I am very curious, so I decided to call the Bank on which the Cashiers Check was drawn on. Unfortunately we are 2 different time zones, and I'll get back with them later.

There is a way to trak this guy through Cyber Space, and I don't beleive that his name is Michael Burton, for those of us who need a little extra money, lets think about getting a legetimate part time job if you already have one, and if you don't have a job, try looking in the area where you live. THis is the season where scams are rampant, but also this is the season where many places are looking for help.

I do empathize with the guy who got taken in this scam, but I deposited my check, today I contacted him, and told him that the check had cleared, so now I'm awaiting his response. We will make our move at that point.

Any suggestions people?

Well, I got a career builder e-mail from a man by the name of Robert Williams <robert.williams@pwhome.org> with a reply address of <rbrtwillims@yahoo.com> offering the same thing as Concordia Home.

I was very sceptical, but asked to receive the contract. I went to the website, did several google/yahoo searches, etc. and found nothing 'wrong.' But was still sceptical.

The website is www.pwhome.org

I saw in a message the following link for concordiahome in this forum http://www.concordihome.org/index.html EXACTLY the same.

When I received the .pdf contract, I did a search on the address in the neatherlands listed on the contract and found this website.

I was very sceptical and because of the parallels of this forum, I am going to pass.

Thanks for the site information. Take care and God bless. I know we all are looking for ways to make money and survive in this world......our 'eyes' can be fooled by the prospect of a 'too good to be true' deal.

Sorry for the typos....am hurring cuz I gotta get to work at a job that I hate, but.....at least I won't get in truble cashin their checks!!!!

Hi all,

Just an update. I called the bank that the check was drawn on and found out that it is in fact a counterfeit check!!! BEWARE! Thankfully I am a very suspicious person by nature and found out the truth before it was too late.

Take care.

I just got my instructions as to where to send the money in US Dollars, and it's a location in the Ukraine. I am not going to send anything to a foreign country!

I am not disappointed at all, I would be if I had fallen prey, but something in my spirit, and I know that it was a GOD given mind that kept telling me to look more closely into thies hing, and of course that's what I did. Well now I know that I will not be using that check, and I will be calling my bank asap to ensure that they void the entire amount TODAY!

I also checked out the other websites with different names on them, and found them all to be the same, just different names. It is going to be next to impossible to find this guy. He is international pryeing on us Luxury loving americans.
