Received a notice in the mail today that I had won $3,341,006.00 in a sweepstakes *confirmed!*. I am, of course, sworn to secrecy.

The catch?
I never entered any sweepstakes
I have to send $20 "processing fees" to "release the report".
The company has been reported to the Las Vegas BBB
They've been reported by the Greeley Times as a scam
Several reports on ripoffreports.com of the same scam.

The certificates are being mailed by Lapham, Vargas & Cornell, a Las Vegas-based company that does business under a number of names, including Las Vegas Nevada Actionable Award Program and Selective Award Citation Organization/ America. Don't fall for this scam.

Better yet, do what I did. Load up the return-post paid envelope with the heaviest stuff you can find, and mail it back to them. And report them to the Postal Service.

I must apologize, I too became a victim of LVAAP. I looked at the amount and said its only $20.00 and mailed it away. Unfortunately, to do a stop payment on the check would cost more than the fee. Its sad people have to go through these measures to get over on others. Its also sad that we are in the times that we want so much to get us by. Times are changing people. We really need to put a stop to these guys.

I was blessed enough to check into these guys before I sent any money. I reviewed a few other sites regarding scams and one person mentioned a class action suit. Would it be worth it? I like the idea of fresh dog turd personally! Anyone asking for cash through our mail system deserves a good log or two! Anyway, my sympathes to those who have been taken advantage of and to the postal workers who will undoubtedly suffer this summer because of a few A-holes looking to make a quick buck. Theres no doubt in my mind that they will get whats coming to them!

ALRIGHT guys...here is the deal, I found this forum yesterday while considering whether or not to send in my dollars only get ripped off again. The basic rule of thumb here is "Don't go for anything that asks you to spend a little money to make billions of dollars". It is so funny/sad how that goes out the window when your back is up against a wall. I always wonder if the guys selling get rich schemes on here actually made the money first or are actually making the money selling the schemes. I had seriously considered writing and selling an eBook online which basically consited of two instructions 1) Write and eBook 2) sell it online.

I spent a good part of yesterday and today scouring the internet looking and searching, I know there is money out there, and we are going to find it. I think I am on to something. I'll let you figure out if it is legit or not. I haven't fully figured it out yet, so I am not ready to divelge the information I have. As soon as I do...(hopefully tomorrow), I will post my findings on most, if not all, of the forums in here....

OK, back to researching.

Recieved one of these myself yesterday along with another scam from some other company. Seems to be scam month...lol. $20.00 to have $3,341,006.00 sent to me? Just send me my check...lol.

Needless to say, just stick a blank piece of paper or better yet, don't put anything in the envelope and mail it back. That way they have to pay for the return postage...lol.

Also got one from Sweepstakes Clearinghouse claiming I won a TV. Just need to send them a check or M.O. for $37.96 and it's all mine...lol. Yeh, right. But that's for another subject.

BTW, DO report them to the BBB AND the U.S. Postal Service.

I got the same thing that Concho did in the mail today. Man man man they almost had me... and my husband. We -JUST- bought a house ... we have 6 month old daughter. SO here we were going.. Hell yea!! MONEY!! YAY!!

So... what do we have to do to shut these folks down? It's really senseless to have this kind of crap going through our mail system. I mean those postal workers -really- and I mean really work their tails off.... and they have to had out trash every day?

I think I will write these nice folks in Vegas a letter... not to mention the report I'm going to put in with the BBB.

OK, I got my official looking notice in the mail today. Thank God for the internet and web sites like this. Apparently there is alot of people who got one of these letters. SO ! What is the best way to get back at these people ? Do we stuff the postage paid envelope with rocks - do we report them to the Better Business Bureau - do we report them to the post office ? Do we do all 3 ?
I think that I will try sending them a letter full of rocks ! I only hope that it will cost them at least $20.00!

My husband just recieved the same letter. Entitle to get 3.3 mill. dollars. It sound to good to be true, so I looked the company up on the internet, and I found this website and others about how this company is a fraud. The saying is true, if it sounds to good to be true, then it probable isn't true. they will get a reply back from us, a empty envelope.

Well Today I received the infamous Actionable Award Program and learned that I was the winner of $3,341,006.00....until I read the fine print that said send $20....ummmm sounds fishy. If I was a company giving away that kind of money I sure as Hell wouldn't ask for $20 dollars.

Anyway, I searched the net and now I know that many others received the same letter. I think the best option is to file a report to the Post Master General. I think they would be the only agency that would do something about this company. I would think this is considered mail fraud. I'm a busy person but from reading how people actually sent the $20 just makes me mad. I intend to file the report and I hope the persons responible for this scam end up where they belong. In jail.

yesterday after I got off of this website I did a little more searching, about the Las vegas people. Anyway I return their envelope with a letter in it, but I started to put dirt in it, and write here is $20 of dirt for you. Anyway I called the cops to report the scam, b/c I did not want elders to get scam, but this had already been reported to them. Also my husband's brother recieved the same letter.
