Coulda been the gates, but more likely it meant rope. When I used to hear that saying as a kid, the 'camel' bit never made any sense.

It was a hard path that had to be taken after dark when the gates of the city were closed...

Amen and Praise God!!!! There is proof of the antichrist. We are in a huge battle with Spiritual Warfare. Look outside, on the streets, crime, murder, drugs, greed, those in power, etc. Look at the way our society is, this is all darkness of evil. The evil one knows his days are numbered, he is out there grabbing as many souls as he can get, through the wanting of fast money, through the heroine fix, through prostitution, even through homelessness.
Who the antichrist is, nobody knows, but we are told of this in the bible. For true believers, it does not matter who the antichrist is, because when the time comes for us to know who our lord is and who the evil one is, we will know the difference, we will not be fooled into following the evil one. The evil one will perform miracles, will be able to do much that our lord can do, which is part of his deceit. The children of God, will not be deceived.

Now I can't say for sure, because I wasn't there, but the Aramaic word 'gamla' means both rope and camel.
Rope kinda makes more sense if you think about it.

Eye of the needle meaning an incredibly dificult passage that required a camel to get down on its knees to proceed through... Most times the camel would balk and would not go through...

You born agains crack me up...God and patriotism...and damned be anyone who doesn't think the way you do. You wrap yourselves in the American Flag....just as though God is an American...or that we are the chosen few.

I never said that God is an American... Actually Jesus was a Jew, and would probably identify with the Israelis...

well lets agree that the path is narrow and few be they that find it!!and "saved" is no permanent guarantee else why the parable of the sewer!?and the dogs and vomit thing!?not to mention hold on to the end will be saved!!for persecution is the fate of believers!!otherwise saved is suspect!!was "job" the perfect persecution!?!not from fault but from ignorance!?for "he" has come to save the lost at a cost to "themselves" opposed to man made creation of a heaven on earth!!ok...i'm done now!!
